What We Offer

The counselling offered is telephone counselling as it is recognised that people with chronic illness and disability may find this easier to access.  It also means the counsellors are able to work with any client without regard for geographical boundaries.

What is Counselling?
Counselling involves the very human skills of listening, understanding and respect.  Listening - is about having someone who will really listen to you and your concerns. Sometimes people feel that it is difficult to talk to friends or family because they have their own worries, and there isn't the time or the opportunity to talk to them, or they do not want to worry other people. Understanding - having the space to focus on your concerns often helps you to clarify your own thoughts and feelings about what is happening in your life. Respect - is an important requirement when you are experiencing difficulties in your life.  Counselling aims to respect the individuality of the person allowing them to make decisions that are right for them. It is not about telling people how they should run their lives.
